Auracast & Hearing Loops
Auracast and Hearing Loop Systems, Designed and Installed
Auracast and hearing loop systems in Akron, OH are designed and installed by GET LOOPED, the assistive listening side of Advanced EARGEAR. Work starts with a site survey: room dimensions, the existing sound system, seating, and how the space actually gets used. From there we specify the system, install it, and verify coverage on site. Theaters, lecture halls, worship spaces, funeral homes, and medical offices are all in scope.
Auracast Is Where Looping Goes Next
A loop broadcasts room audio straight into a listener's ears, and it has done that job well for years. Auracast does the same over Bluetooth LE Audio, without the copper. It also reaches past hearing loss: a student who cannot filter classroom noise gets a clean, direct stream. Only about three hearing aid manufacturers build Auracast in so far, which is why venue work is running ahead of the devices. We handle Auracast installation across Ohio.
Auracast and Loop FAQs
What facilities managers, worship leaders, and school administrators ask before an install: how a loop differs from Auracast, what a site survey covers, ADA compliance, and upgrade paths.
An induction loop runs a wire around the listening area and sends the audio signal through a magnetic field. Anyone with a telecoil in their hearing aid switches it on and hears the sound source directly, with the room noise left behind. It is proven, it needs no receiver to hand out, and telecoils are still in most hearing aids on the market.
Auracast reaches the same result over Bluetooth LE Audio. A transmitter broadcasts, and phones, earbuds, hearing aids, or loaner receivers join the stream. Because it is digital, one space can carry several channels at once, which is how a venue runs a second language or an audio description feed alongside the main mix. No wire goes in the floor.
Places of worship, lecture halls and classrooms, performing arts facilities, theaters, funeral homes, medical offices, bars, and meeting rooms. Small rooms and large rooms both work, and we do home systems as well, which usually come down to a television and a sitting area. Advanced EARGEAR's advanced listening solutions cover the design and the installation, so the survey, the equipment specification, and the crew are not three separate vendors.
If your building already broadcasts sound through a mixer or a house system, it is a candidate. To talk through a space, call the GET LOOPED line at (330) 745-2220.
Yes, and in a classroom that is often the bigger use case. Plenty of students hear perfectly well and still cannot separate the teacher from the chairs, the hallway, the HVAC, and the twenty other people in the room. Auracast hands them the teacher's microphone feed directly, at their own volume, with the competing noise stripped out.
That makes it relevant to students with ADHD or autism, and to anyone who processes speech more slowly under load. The technology is not a hearing aid and it is not framed as one. It is a listening system for a room, and the same transmitter serves a student with hearing loss and a student who is simply overwhelmed by the noise.
Assembly areas that use audio amplification generally have to provide an assistive listening system, with a required number of receivers scaled to seating capacity and a share of those receivers compatible with telecoils. Signage at the entrance is part of it too. This is where a lot of buildings fall short quietly: the equipment was bought years ago, and nobody has checked whether it still works or whether anyone knows how to hand it out.
We design to those requirements and verify field strength or coverage after the install, so you have a result rather than a receipt. Your architect or code official has the final say on your specific occupancy, and we are glad to work alongside them.
Not urgently. A working loop keeps working, and telecoils are in far more hearing aids today than Auracast radios are. Only about three major manufacturers currently build Auracast into their devices, so ripping out a functioning loop this year would shrink the number of people you can serve, not grow it.
The sensible path is planning now and adding later. We look at what you have, tell you honestly how much life is left in it, and price the Auracast option so it sits in your capital plan instead of arriving as a surprise. Many of the loops in this region came from us originally, which means we already know the room.
The survey comes first and it happens in your building, not over email. We measure the listening area, look at the floor construction and any metal in it, check what your mixer or sound system can feed us, and ask how the space is used on a normal week. Steel and rebar change loop design. A balcony changes it again.
You get a written specification and a price from that. Installation length depends on the room and on whether we can work around your schedule or need the space clear, and most single-room jobs are a matter of days rather than weeks. We finish by verifying coverage and showing your staff how to run it, because a system nobody can operate helps nobody.
We Don't Let Hearing Aids End Up in a Drawer
Plenty of hearing aids get sold. Fewer get worn. Advanced EARGEAR has spent 20 years closing that gap, starting every patient with a full audiometric assessment and a conversation about what they actually need to hear at home and at work. We verify the fit, adjust as your hearing changes, and service your devices at every one of our Ohio offices, whatever brand you wear and wherever you bought it.
